How Does Mindset Coaching Differ from Other Talking Therapies?

Other talking therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, work by identifying the problems you’re facing currently and learning how to use healthy coping mechanisms to overcome them. Some talking therapies are focused on being able to verbalise the issue and process your feelings, others are about acceptance of what has happened and being at peace with the decisions and events that have occurred. Mindset coaching and NLP techniques are centred on changing thought patterns and behaviour strategies so the issues don’t reappear. Rather than continuing to drag your past into your present you can let it go and stop it from interfering with your future.

Due to the nature of the techniques, you are not required to share all the details of your struggles unless you are comfortable to do so. Unlike counselling and other talking therapies, many of the sessions require you to follow instructions which can be done in your head as Sam guides you through the process rather than answering her out loud. This can often make the experience more emotionally gentle compared to similar therapies.
