Celebrating 4 Years of Wisbey Osteopathy

It’s hard to believe how quickly this past year has gone – it’s now been four years since I first opened the doors at Wisbey Osteopathy. Strange to think that a year ago I was trying to figure out how to battle through the trials and tribulations of my first trimester with work, now I’m planning my return to the clinic room!

What began as a small clinic with a big vision has blossomed into a thriving little center for osteopathic and multidisciplinary care. Over these past 4 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals achieve better health, recover from injuries, and live pain-free lives. This anniversary is a celebration not just of how far the clinic has come, but of the Hitchin community and surrounding areas that has trusted me and my therapists with their well-being. Indulge me as I reflect on the progress we’ve made as a team and look forward to what the future holds.

Our Journey

Four years ago, Wisbey Osteopathy was founded on the belief that healthcare should be more than just treating symptoms—it should address the patient as a whole person, including their physical, mental and social wellbeing. From day one, my mission was to combine the expertise of different disciplines under one roof, offering a truly integrated approach to health and healing.

I have visited a few osteopaths in the past for my sporting ailments, the experiences varied in the patient satisfaction department, some good, some bad; but the best ones still felt they were missing something. I’ve combined my experiences to try and create my vision of the perfect manual therapy clinic, offering a truly unique and personal service to each person who walks through the door.

I started as a one-woman band, a fire lit beneath me by a passion for helping people and a determination to achieve excellence, and over these 4 years, the business has grown into a comprehensive clinic that provides a full range of services. Each step of the way, I’ve been guided by our core values of compassion, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring that every patient receives the highest level of care possible. No sneaky marketing, no scams, no scare tactics – just honest, medical advice.

As we celebrate this milestone, I reflect on the relationships we’ve built, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the lives we’ve helped transform. Our journey has been one of continuous learning, growth and adaptation, and we’re excited to see where the next four years will take us.

Key Milestones & Achievements

Over the past four years, we’ve reached several exciting milestones. Here are some of the highlights:

  1. Expanding Our Services
From osteopathy to massage, dry needling, sports therapy and neurolinguistic programming, we’ve expanded our services to provide comprehensive treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs. We were even able to offer indian head massage, manual lymphatic drainage and ScarWorkTM to our services during Kirstie’s time with us on a temporary contract.
  2. Serving Over 1000 Patients
We’re proud to have treated over 1000 different patients in 4 years, helping individuals overcome pain, improve mobility, and enhance their quality of life.
  3. Growing Our Team of Experts
Wisbey Osteopathy started with just 1 person with a big idea, and today, we have grown into a multidisciplinary team of 3 specialists with a multitude of trusted professionals within our referral network, all committed to delivering personalised care.
  4. Community Involvement & Education
We believe in giving back. Over the past four years, we’ve hosted seminars, participated in local health fairs, donated money and raffle prizes to charity, sponsored youth sports teams and provided free consultations to support the well-being of our community.

Patient Testimonials

Nothing speaks louder than the voices of those we serve. Our Google reviews can be seen here in all their glory. Here are a couple of our favourite stories from our amazing patients:

  • “Sam started treating me for lower back pain due to an imbalance of strength in those muscles. I then fell pregnant a few months later and Sam treated me until I was 38 weeks, ensuring I was pain free for almost all of my pregnancy! She’s a miracle worker! Sam is also incredibly friendly (but professional) makes you feel welcome and at ease and really knows her stuff! I highly recommend her services.” — Savanna M
  • “After suffering from lower back pain I booked an initial consultation with Tas and couldn’t be happier. She took the time to go through the issue in detail, diagnosed the issue and started treatment all within my first session. I’m now starting my at home stretches and will be booking in for some maintenance! Would totally recommend!!” — Rob B

What Sets Us Apart

At Wisbey Osteopathy, our commitment to integrative care makes us unique. Tas and I believe that true healing comes from treating the person as a whole, not just the body. This is why our practitioners offer longer appointment sessions so we can really get to know you, we offer the best value for money for a manual therapy clinic in Hitchin and we work together between practitioners, with our patients and with our network of trusted local professionals to create individualised treatment plans. You will not find a single template or pre-made rehab plan at Wisbey Osteopathy! Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, experiencing pregnancy or looking to improve your overall well-being, we have the expertise to help you meet your health goals.

A Spotlight on Our Team

Behind every success at Wisbey Osteopathy is a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled team of professionals who bring their expertise and passion to every patient interaction. It is one thing for me to work as hard as i do, the clinic really has been my first baby, but to find therapists to work alongside that I can trust and who put as much of their heart and soul into the clinic as I do is not a quality you find in other every day. I am truly blessed to have found people to work with that share my enthusiasm.

Each member of our team is not only highly trained in their respective fields but also committed to continuous professional development. Whether it’s attending workshops, pursuing advanced certifications, or collaborating with each other to share knowledge, our practitioners are always learning new ways to better serve our patients.

Let’s have a round of applause for:

Tas – Our wonderful sports therapist joined us nearly 1 year ago and she has been fantastic. During her interview I laid my cards on the table and revealed that I was pregnant and planning to take time off from May 2024. She would have 6 months before she took on my entire patient list and kept things going in the clinic while I handled things behind the scenes. Tas was more than up for the challenge and has exceeded all my expectations (which are high to begin with!) I cannot express my gratitude for her skills, her professionalism and her initiative. What a gem!

Kirstie – Kirstie was only with us for a short time on an agreed temporary basis while I was on maternity leave from May 2025 and although she has been working at Wisbey Osteopathy for slightly shorter than expected – it has been a pleasure! She has taken great care of the people who have walked through the clinic door and of the clinic space, which is a real reassurance when I’m not there. Kirstie is now off on her next exciting adventure, we wish her lots of luck and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

Harry – Our admin assistant, my fiance and my biggest source of moral support (perhaps equal to my mum!) He generally works completely behind the scenes, but a few of you may have heard him on the end of the phone once or twice. Harry is a super important part of the team because he’s the only person who sees the highs and lows of what I go through to run Wisbey Osteopathy to the standard you have all come to expect. He has been nothing but supportive and encouraging through each obstacle and triumph. Here’s to many more years of being the rock of the company.

I am incredibly proud of the team, and it’s their dedication that has made these four years so successful. As we look to the future, we remain focused on growing our team to ensure we continue to meet the diverse needs of our patients. If you know of any therapists looking for a job – send them my way! And watch this space for more announcements on new therapies!

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Wisbey Osteopathy?

Our mission at Wisbey Osteopathy remains clear: to continue evolving and growing to better serve our patients and our community. Here are a few exciting plans for the next chapter:

  • New Service Offerings: We are introducing a running package and pregnancy package option, as well as a subscription service option for maintenance appointments in the very near future. Tas is also coming to the end of her medical acupuncture course and will soon be adding that to her list of therapies.
  • Expansion Plans: Our goal is to expand to a larger location in the eventual future, but for now we want to focus on finding the right team members who want to commit to the clinic long-term before we explore the idea of a new building.
  • Patient-Centered Innovations: We are always looking into new technology to improve how we deliver care, ensuring convenience and efficiency. Our decision to keep the shockwave machine has been an excellent choice and well recieved by our patients. We have also been using a new automated system to send reminders which has had great feedback so far.

A Special Thank You

We, as a team, want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our patients and community. Some of our patients have been with us near enough from the beginning of this journey, which is an incredible show of confidence. Getting to know each person who comes to visit us is part of our personal approach and it is an honour to be a pillar of consistency in our patients lives. Being part of the wider community, involved in local charity events and teams sponsorships, really adds to our sense of belonging in Hitchin. Without your trust and support, these past four years wouldn’t have been possible. Here’s to many more years of health, healing, and success!
